Understand and Adjusting Frame Rate
FPS = Frames Per Second
Frames Per Second (or Frame Rate) is the number of frames captured per second.
Different Frame Rates
OpenReel Capture gives Directors the option to film in three different frame rates.
NOTE: The frame rate defaults to 30
- 24 FPS: Minimum frame rate needed to capture video in realistic motion.
- 30 FPS: Video standard, and the OR Capture default. Videos with more motion will benefit from the extra frames per second.
- 60 FPS: Typically used to capture high action or very busy footage (think: sporting event). Also used to capture footage that will be edited to slow motion in post-production.
