Using the exposure feature to change lighting
Exposure is the amount of light that is allowed within your camera sensor. It is a crucial part of how bright or dark your picture appears.
There are two ways you can adjust exposure with OpenReel.
1. Exposure Marker on the Preview Screen
- This is the easiest way to change the exposure in the frame. If you right-click anywhere within the preview screen of the device that is connected to the room, you will be able to change exposure depending on where your marker is placed.
Tip: If you bring the exposure marker to a blown out light source, you will see the shot will become very dim, bringing down the intensity of any lights. If you bring the exposure marker to a darker source in the frame, you will see the shot will become very bright and possibly over-exposed.
2. Advanced Features
- You can go to the advanced features by clicking the up-arrow that is located above the log mode option in the footer. You will see that you have the option to adjust the exposure at a smaller scale by clicking the “+” and “-” button.
