Common Questions about Hours
**We are in the process of adding a simple way to view total hours recorded as a setting in your account in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can individually add the time on your recordings or we’d be happy to run a report for you.**
How do I use Hours on my account?
Hours are a metric that tracks recording time, or the time spent recording footage on your OpenReel account. Time goes against your hours from when you press start recording to when you press stop.
Example: If you record four 15-minute videos you will have used up 1 hour on your account.
If I delete a video before uploading it, does that recording time still count toward my hours?
Yes, hours are tracked by time spent recording. If you record footage, regardless of whether or not it is uploaded it counts towards your hours.
If I delete a video from the storage section, will the length of that video still count toward my hours?
Yes, hours are tracked by time spent recording. If you record footage, regardless of whether or not it is deleted from the storage section, it counts toward your hours.
Do my video hours and minutes get rounded up when calculating usage?
There is no rounding up on usage time. Your time will be recorded like this: HH:MM:SS. (Hours, Min, Seconds)
When using MultiCam does the recording on each device count towards hours?
Yes, total recording is taken into account.
Example: 2 Cameras, 2 minute video recorded on each = 4 minutes of recording
