Change who the subject sees in the viewfinder
What is Dominant Speaker
The dominant speaker feature detects who in the session is speaking at any given moment and displays that speaker on the subject’s phone. AKA who the subject sees in this viewfinder here:
By default the subject will see the director in this viewfinder window.
If the dominant speaker feature is turned on the subject will see the dominant speaker (whoever in the session is speaking at any given moment). This could be anyone who is connected in the session (the director, any collaborators, or any other subjects).
Examples:
- Director is speaking - the subject will see the director
- Collaborator is speaking - the subject will see the collaborator
- In Multicam when another subject is in the room, the subject will see the person talking
When to use Dominant Speaker
Collaborators - The director has invited a collaborator into the room that they want the subject to see. This is helpful if the collaborator is giving any directions to the subject and/or prompting the subject with questions.
Multiple Subjects using MultiCam - If there is more than 1 subject in the session and the subjects are having a back and forth conversation, turn on the dominant speaker feature so that the subjects see each other and can have a more organic interaction.
How to Turn on Dominant Speaker
To turn on this feature, the subject must first be paired to the session.
STEP 1: From the Session Options Menu and Select the Remote Devices Header, and select the 3 dots next to the device
STEP 2: Select the Mobile Feed Menu
STEP 4: Choose Dominant Speaker
All set! - Close out of session options.
