OpenReel 2.0 has some advanced file recovery options for Webcam Subjects. The steps below can help you retrieve your files if the Subject closes their tab or quits their browser before the uploads have completed, or in situations where the Subject has a very low upload speed.
**These steps will not work if the Subject was recording using an Incognito or Private browser window. Once closed, all of that data is erased.**
Instructions:
- Have the Subject re-open their browser and connect to the same Session using their invite link. The files should automatically retry to upload. The Subject should see a notification appear at the bottom of their screen showing the progress of the upload.
Please note: The Subject will need to use the same web browser that they used during the Session because the files are stored in that browser's cache.
- If the uploads do not retry automatically, the Subject can open a new tab in their web browser and go to this Video Retry Link. This will bring them to the following page and the files should attempt to upload again.
- If the files will still not upload, they can click the box on the left to select the individual files. They can click Download to save the clip locally to their computer. In this case, they will no longer be able to upload directly to OpenReel and they will need to send the files in a different way (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc)
Please note: If they choose Delete, the file will be removed from the browser storage and will not be recoverable.
